When I think of a tall building that leave me a deep impression, I immediately come up with the local town hall(政府大樓) in my hometown. I live in a small city where skyscrapers are just very difficult to find. Among those precious tall buildings, town hall is the highest and most fascinating one. (開篇交待背景,，表明想要說的高樓的基本情況)

Approximately, the building is 15 or 16-stories high, which includes a diverse range of offices. I once followed my father there, and the interior decorations impressed me a lot. The architecture is equipped with splendid fittings and various kinds of lecture halls(報告廳) and activity rooms. The recreation rooms are especially modernized, with numerous media devices and an abundant( 豐 富 的) variety of refreshments(茶點(diǎn)). The exterior of town hall is very modern and splendid, with its walls glittering(閃爍) under the golden sunshine. There is even a huge fountain at the front of the structure. The whole building creates a strong contrast with(強(qiáng)烈對比) its surrounding ancient landmarks. （對高樓的外部和內(nèi)部做基本描述。在講外觀的同時也對功能加以評論）

Personally speaking, I don’t like this place very much, for it is apparent(顯而易見) that the building cost the government an arm and leg to build. From my point of view, my hometown is not an economically developed city, and that the government should feel obliged to(感到有 責(zé)任的) use the taxpayers’(納稅人) money wisely, for instance, to improve infrastructure(基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施) or invest in innovation and new industries.
