A: Sure. With the rapid development of energy (能源) technologies, I believe new vehicles powered by natural gas (天然氣) or solar energy (太陽(yáng)能) will be popular in the future. Streets will no longer be crowded (擁擠的). Instead, the air will be clean and the sky will be blue.

Q: What technology can be used to improve public transportation?

A: Well, there are a lot of measures to be taken to develop public transportation. We can develop the monitoring systems (監(jiān)督體系) with computers and make the traffic system more efficient (有效率的)and effective(有效果的). Besides, I’ve also heard that an engineer from the United States has designed a special plate which can be used to cover the road. The plate absorbs solar energy(吸收太陽(yáng)能) and is capable of charging vehicles powered by electricity（為電動(dòng)車(chē)充電）.

Q: What causes traffic problem?

A: Well, the number of vehicles (車(chē)輛) is increasing much more rapidly than the construction (建設(shè)) of roads. Besides, there seem to be too many private cars (私家車(chē)) and not enough buses. What’s more, the majority of city dwellers, including drivers, pedestrians (行人) and cyclists(騎自行車(chē)的人) do not obey traffic rules properly.

Q: What measures should be taken by the government to make transportation more efficient?

A: the government should invest (投資) more money in the construction of new roads and the maintenance (維護(hù)) of old ones which are in-need-of-repair, particularly those in city centers. Also, the number of private cars in urban areas (市區(qū)) should be limited while the number of public buses should be increased. At the same time, it’s essential that strict traffic rules and regulations (法規(guī)) be enforced.
